The St. Regis<\/a> brand is one of the most recognisable names in the world for luxury hospitality. With 57 hotels on 4 continents, you can likely find a St. Regis to make your next trip especially memorable. Even better, the St. Regis is included in the recent Starwood Hotels<\/a> merger with Marriott, so your hotel points can likely get you a few extra nights no matter who you normally stay with!<\/p>\n

I was lucky enough to experience everything the St. Regis Singapore<\/a> had to offer and I\u2019m so excited to share with you what made my stay so special!<\/p>\n

THE LOCATION<\/h2>\n

The St. Regis Singapore is perfectly located right off Orchard Road<\/a> in the heart of the city. There are countless shops within a very short walk from the hotel, as well as other attractions such as the Botanic Gardens and National Orchid Garden<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Most of the other must-see areas, including Gardens by the Bay<\/a>, The National Museum<\/a>, and Clarke Quay<\/a>, are also a short cab ride away. There is also a red line stop to Singapore\u2019s incredible metro line a short walk from the hotel, so you can get wherever you need to easily.<\/p>\n

However, once you check into the hotel there\u2019s a good chance you\u2019ll never want to leave!<\/p>\n

When you first pull up to the St. Regis, you know you are in for a special stay. The tall silver building located on the corner is impossible to miss and welcoming at the same time.<\/p>\n

You will be greeted by a smiling bellhop and parking attendant as soon as you get out of your car, and escorted through the lobby to the helpful check in desk.<\/p>\n

If it feels like the hotel could double as a museum, you would be right! There is an astonishing amount of paintings and sculptures from world famous artists throughout the hotel, so much so that the hotel even offers art tours (but more on this later).<\/p>\n

After checking in you\u2019ll be escorted to one of the elevators, and each elevator is complete with its own sitting bench. This is a throwback to the early version of the hotel, where elevators moved up the floors much, much slower, so benches were offered to make the rides more comfortable.<\/p>\n

Though the elevators are now modern day speedy, little touches like this show the amount of detail and thought that has gone into the hotel and makes the stay feel even more luxurious.<\/p>\n

THE ROOMS<\/h2>\n

Once in the room, you will be immersed in comfort regardless of which room style you book. All of the St. Regis\u2019 299 rooms and suites<\/a> are elegantly appointed, combining traditional luxury with modern day amenities.<\/p>\n

From the incredible bed sheets, to the beyond-fluffy towels and bathrobes, to the deep bathtub, it\u2019s hard to imagine a more comfortable room to stay in.<\/p>\n

The St. Regis is a throwback to a time when brands took pride in their hospitality and offer only the highest quality of products.<\/p>\n

Taking pride in traditional luxury has not stopped the St. Regis from filling the rooms with modern amenities. For example, there are buttons on either side of the bed to quickly close the blinds and dim the lights, a full smart TV complete with surround sound Bose speakers, speedy wi-fi throughout the hotel, and even a TV built into the mirror of the bathtub!<\/p>\n

By effortlessly combining richly furnished rooms with every modern amenity you could ask for, the St. Regis Singapore easily lives up to its name as the world\u2019s premier 5 star resort.<\/p>\n

THE FOOD AT THE ST REGIS, SINGAPORE<\/h2>\n

Once you do manage to leave the comfort of the room and decide to opt for something besides the incredible room service menu, there are a wealth of quality food options<\/a> at the hotel.<\/p>\n

There are 6 high quality dining options on site at the St. Regis, including Cantonese, Italian, Japanese, and French. I was lucky enough to sample several of the different on-site options:<\/p>\n

Brasserie Les Saveurs<\/h3>\n

Brasserie Les Saveurs is the restaurant you will likely spend the majority of your time. Each morning, an incredible breakfast is offered in the beautiful restaurant just off from the main lobby.<\/p>\n

Virtually every type of food, including chef stations for eggs and crepes, can be found along the breakfast buffet. The wait staff will also bring you any type of coffee or tea you want to accompany your breakfast feast, starting off your day perfectly.<\/p>\n

After exploring for the day, you can come back for the Afternoon Tea Experience also offered at Brasserie Las Saveurs. This includes many of the delicacies you would expect from a luxury hotel, but also some especially nice dessert treats.<\/p>\n

I particularly enjoyed the chocolate fountain, complete with strawberries, marshmallows, and other fruits ready for your dipping pleasure!<\/p>\n

Finally, I also had one of my evening meals at the restaurant. One of the dining options was to choose a main course, with options ranging from prime rib, fish, and chicken, and then also have access to the appetizer, salad and dessert bar.<\/p>\n

This was perfect for me because I always prefer having several options to choose from with my meal, especially when everything tastes as good as it does at the St. Regis!<\/p>\n

Whether you go in for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or afternoon tea, make sure to stop in to Brasserie Las Saveurs during your stay!<\/p>\n

Yan Ting<\/h3>\n

If you are looking for a more traditional Asian inspired meal during your stay, then definitely make a booking at Yan Ting<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Located on the 2nd<\/sup> floor above the lobby, Yan Ting, meaning \u201cImperial Courtyard,\u201d is an authentic Cantonese restaurant inspired by the Ming Dynasty. The beautifully adorned restaurant, complete with several works of art on the walls, will have you feeling like royalty as you enjoy traditional Eastern cuisine.<\/p>\n

Astor Bar<\/h3>\n

Finally, it wouldn\u2019t be a proper vacation without some incredible cocktails! Luckily, the St. Regis has you covered with their luxurious Astor Bar.<\/p>\n

The Bar offers live music with extremely talented musicians to make the ambiance just right for that late afternoon cocktail. The Astor Bar is especially known for its Bloody Mary options, including the St. Regis\u2019 own \u201cChilli Padi Mary\u201d which was one of the best drinks I\u2019ve ever had!<\/p>\n

If you are more of a whisky person, the bar has over 200 (!!) different whiskies from all over the world, so you can definitely find that perfect base for your whiskey sour after a long day of site seeing.<\/p>\n

Finally, it’s worth noting that the bar is home to several original Picassos, so if you are an art connoisseur you will not be disappointed.<\/p>\n

THE SPA<\/h2>\n

Another great way to unwind is to book a pampering spa day at the St. Regis\u2019 Rem\u00e9de Spa. Like the rest of the hotel, the spa consists of only the utmost in quality and customer service.<\/p>\n

Even the entrance way looks like something from a photoshoot, complete with hundreds of silver ornaments flowing from the ceiling! Rem\u00e9de particularly focuses on the central theme of water, through the flowing archways, lighter colours, and relaxing baths.<\/p>\n

If you are looking for a particularly special treatment for your booking, I can highly recommend the Warm Jade Stone Massage. This signature treatment offered by the St. Regis is a 90 minute massage using warm jade stones, traditional massage techniques, and a special aromatherapy blend for total sensory relaxation.<\/p>\n

What this really means is you will be transported to a very calming and soothing place for the entire 90 minutes, clearing your mind and relieving any body aches that might be nagging you. I honestly felt like a new person by the time I was done!<\/p>\n

After your massage you then have time to enjoy the other spa facilities, including sauna, steam and jacuzzi.<\/p>\n

ART TOURS<\/h2>\n

When you book a stay at the St. Regis, you are booking more than just a hotel room. The entire St. Regis revolves around an exceptionally luxurious experience. This is evident in the little touches around the hotel, especially in the artwork.<\/p>\n

While I am no art connoisseur by any means, I was very impressed by the quantity and quality of the pieces throughout the hotel that included Pablo Picasso, Joan Miro, Fernando Botero, and Marc Chagall.<\/p>\n

I would highly recommend doing the daily Art Of Living Tour<\/a> through the hotel, where I learned many of the interesting details behind each piece. This included the large mural behind the front desk, a feature which is found in every St. Regis around the world, numerous Picasso\u2019s ink drawings in the Astor Bar and many influential Asian artists.<\/p>\n

Each piece has a story and intention behind it, such as the concept of even numbers being considered lucky in Asian culture. For example, a series of paintings in the lobby had an even number of birds in each frame, and the Frank Gehry<\/a> two fish sculptures in the entryway pointed inwards to the lobby to ensure good fortune.<\/p>\n

The artwork is undeniably impressive and aesthetically pleasing, but learning the history and process behind each piece really grew my appreciation even more!<\/p>\n

THE OVERALL ST REGIS EXPERIENCE<\/h2>\n

It goes without saying that I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the St. Regis. All of my expectations were not only met but greatly exceeded. From the exquisite food, to the luxurious rooms, to the impeccable customer service, everything about my stay was a 5 star experience. I truly cannot wait to return to the St Regis Singapore someday and strongly encourage you to book your stay there as well!<\/p>\n
