The Bernese Alps are a breathtaking mountain range consisting of three peaks (Eiger, M\u00f6nch, and Jungfrau) in Western Switzerland, in the canton of Bern. The range is part of the larger Swiss Alps and encompasses over 800 lakes and countless kilometers of picturesque snow-capped peaks.<\/p>\n

This area offers excellent skiing in the winter and incredible hiking in the summer<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It is large and situated at a crossroads where you can easily get to and from other smaller towns, such as M\u00fcrren, Wengen, Gimmelwald, and Grindelwald.<\/p>\n

Where I stayed In The Swiss Alps: Hotel Eiger <\/h2>\n

The picturesque town of M\u00fcrren is my favorite village in the Swiss Alps. M\u00fcrren is small, car-free town, accessible from the valley floor via the cable car to mountain railway from Lauterbrunnen or Stechelberg.<\/p>\n

Because it is not accessible bar car, M\u00fcrren has managed maintain the charm and authenticity that travelers long to experience when visiting a small town in foreign country. I have spent two weeks in the Swiss Alps, on two different trips, and fell in love with M\u00fcrren.<\/p>\n

The village of M\u00fcrren exudes all the things I appreciate about the Swiss Alps: mountain charm, simplicity, breathtaking views, fresh mountain air, less tourists, amazing hiking trails, cute cottages, beautiful gardens and wild flowers, farm animals and wildlife, fun mountain pubs, great restaurants, excellent hotels, welcoming locals, and a happy, carefree energy that reminds you how luck you are to be alive. <\/p>\n

My favorite hotel in M\u00fcrren, Hotel Eiger M\u00fcrren<\/a>, embodies all of the things I love about the Swiss Alps. Ideally situated across from the M\u00fcrren Train Station<\/a> with breathtaking mountain views of Eiger, M\u00f6nch and Jungfrau, Hotel Eiger offers the ideal home base for exploring the best of the Swiss Alps. <\/p>\n

I loved the spotlessly clean mountain modern rooms, the amazing breakfast buffet, and the friendly staff. I greatly appreciated that there was fresh coffee in the lobby every morning (with large take away cups) and fresh apples that were ideal for an afternoon snack after a long hike. <\/p>\n

One of the best amenities Hotel Eiger M\u00fcrren<\/a> offers is their larger, indoor lap pool. I felt so lucky to be able to return to the hotel after hiking all day and be able to swim in a heated, indoor pool and relax my tired muscles in the sauna. <\/p>\n

The restaurant at Hotel Eiger M\u00fcrren<\/a> is excellent ( you have to try the cheese fondue!) and the hotel bar is very fun. Even in off season the bar and restaurant were open late and very lively, but the rest of the hotel was quiet and peaceful. <\/p>\n

Best Swiss Alps Towns & Hotels For Every Budget<\/h2>\n

There are an array of cute villages to choose from in the Swiss Alps. Below I am sharing some of my favorite towns and hotels in the Interlaken area.<\/p>\n

This region is stunning, and is home to incredible hiking<\/a>, skiing and breathtaking lakes, rivers and mountain ranges. The towns I chose for this guide are idyllic, and this area is only a 1.5 hour drive from Zurich. <\/p>\n

M\u00fcrren<\/h3>\n

As I mentioned above, M\u00fcrren (population 417) is a charming Swiss mountain village situated at the foot of Schilthorn Peak, which is accessible via a cable car to mountain train from Lauterbrunnen Station<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The village is well-known for its appearance in a James Bond film. The Piz Gloria revolving restaurant, located here, features the Bond World 007 exhibit and provides breathtaking views of Mont Blanc.<\/p>\n

Just a short distance from M\u00fcrren lies the Lauterbrunnen Valley, renowned for its subterranean glacial Tr\u00fcmmelbach Falls. Additionally, the Allmendhubel Peak offers themed trails such as the Flower Panorama and North Face paths, making it an ideal destination for adventure lovers who emerging themselves in nature and outdoor activities.<\/p>\n
