As a world traveler and a mom, I am always on the lookout for clothes that are wrinkle resistant, breathable and stylish, so I was very excited when I heard about Wayre<\/a>. But what excited me the most is that this new travel line (check out their Kickstarter campaign<\/a>) is eco-friendly!<\/p>\n

I grew up on a solar-powered eco ranch on the Central Coast of California. My family had the first electric car in San Luis Obispo County in 1999. Back then I was hopeful that a big eco revolution was coming but years went by and not much seemed to happen.<\/p>\n

Fast forward 20 years and you can understand why I am so happy to finally start seeing eco companies like Wayre that care about planet, and want to help protect it for future generations. Here are 10 reasons why I love Wayre, and why you’ll love them too! <\/p>\n

1) ULTRA WRINKLE RESISTANT <\/h2>\n
Wayre’s tag line is “apparel for the modern traveler” and as such one of their goals was to create a line that is wrinkle resistant. On behalf of all the travel girls out there – thank you<\/em>! Who wants to waste their limited time in a new destination ironing?! I don’t even iron my clothes at home, let alone when I am traveling! <\/div>\n

2) AIRY SILK-LIKE FABRIC<\/h2>\n
I am in love with the airy silk-like fabric that Wayre is made out of. The fabric is light, flowy and comfortable. And it does not attract lint. One of my pet peeves is lint and I don’t want to worry about being covered in it when I am adventuring around.<\/div>\n

You can wear Wayre all day sightseeing then throw on some heals and go out in the same clothes at night still looking and feeling good (with no lint on you)! Now this is something to be excited about! <\/div>\n

3) MADE OUT OF PLASTIC BOTTLES <\/h2>\n
I love that the fabric used to create Wayre pieces is made out of recycled plastic bottles! According to EarthDay.org<\/a>, in 2016 world plastics production totaled around 335 million metric tons and roughly half of annual plastic production is destined for a single-use product.<\/div>\n

Humans buy over 1 million plastic bottles every minute and only about 23% of plastic bottles are recycled within the U.S. Plastic pollution is destroying our global eco-systems and single-use plastics have a large-scale impact on our entire earth.<\/div>\n

But Wayre is striving to be part of the solution by making their clothes out of recycled plastic bottles which not only reduces waste, but also helps create recycling demand which encourages more plastic recycling. <\/div>\n

4) RESPONSIBLY MANUFACTURED <\/h2>\n
Most people know about the atrocities that go on in the manufacturing world – slave wages, child labor, horrific working conditions – but many companies choose to look the other way, valuing profit over people. <\/div>\n

But Wayre has proudly partnered with Everest Textile in Taiwan to produce their clothing in a responsible way, focusing on sustainability, ethical manufacturing and transparent and fair pricing. <\/div>\n

5) UV RESISTANT <\/h2>\n
I love that Wayre is UV resistant! The sun has always been strong but these days, thanks to humans ruining the ozone layer, the sun is even more intense. I am half Italian and use to pride myself on not burning easily, but just yesterday I took my daughter to the beach and got badly burned on my shoulders.<\/div>\n

I covered my daughter in sun cream but we were only out there for 30 minutes, so I didn’t bother putting any on myself, and came home to find my shoulders totally burnt. Ouch! Wayre is UV resistant up to 30 SPF for those extra sunny desert or beach days. Now, if they can just come out with a hooded, full-bodied onesie I probably won’t get burnt anymore. ?<\/div>\n

6) SPILL-PROOF & STANK PROOF <\/h2>\n
I am the person who will say at dinner, “Yay! I didn’t spill anything today,” and then promptly spill red wine all over myself. My amazing ability to spill on myself almost every day, along with my daughters amazing ability to spill on me almost every day, leaves me pretty dirty on most days.<\/div>\n

Throw traveling into the mix and you probably don’t want to get stuck sitting next to me on a  plane or bus. So you can imagine my excitement to find an eco travel line that is spill-proof and stank-proof. The last thing you want to worry about when traveling is being dirty and stinky!  <\/div>\n

7) STYLE & FIT <\/h2>\n
I love the loose fitting, flowy fit of Wayre pieces, and I especially love the Shift & Snap Tank<\/a> and Flow Short<\/a>! As I type these words I am wearing both (honestly). I wore them all day today with flat sandals to hang out with my two-year-old daughter, and in a few hours I am going to throw on chunky heals and a jacket and wear them out to dinner.<\/div>\n

The top is fitted without being too tight and the shorts are high waisted and the perfect length to feel conservative, or sexy, depending on how you style them. <\/div>\n

Wayre began with one girl, many packing dilemmas and a long list of places to see. We love supporting other female founded companies so I was inspired to find out Wayre was created by Rachael Kemp<\/a>.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

Rachael saw a void in the marketplace for modern eco travel apparel and decided to take matters into her own hands. After an incredible amount of hard work she launched Wayre on Kickstarter on July 24th.
