Ladies We Love is a monthly interview series with women from around the world that provide us with inspiration through their travels and personal stories. This week we got to know travel blogger Sarah Bryant of Sarah’s Trek.<\/em><\/i><\/p>\n

Sarah Bryant is an Ambassador and Senior Contributor at We Are Travel Girls. Sarah is an avid hiker and loves being outdoors. She has been travelling the world hiking and exploring different countries, sharing her adventures on her travel blog SarahsTrek.com.<\/p>\n

1) Sarah, for our readers who have yet to read your articles please tell us a little bit about yourself? What do you do? Where are you from?<\/h3>\n

Hiya! So I\u2019m currently based in London (but spend a lot of my time elsewhere!), and I work a pretty epic job which sadly I can\u2019t disclose publicly, but it does see me jetting off to exciting locations although I never quite know my schedule! I am a hiking enthusiast<\/a> and am often in the mountains or embarking on an outdoor adventure with my boyfriend.<\/p>\n

2) You have recently started a travel blog – SarahsTrek.com, what inspired you to do this? And why should people visit your blog?<\/h3>\n

Yes! I had been writing for We Are Travel Girls for 5 months and finally thought it was time to create my own space on the internet. I was starting to find that lots of people on Social Media were trying to sell something so I wanted to create a space that\u2019s just your average girl travelling the world, no strings attached and my stories are a reflection of that.<\/p>\n

3) You traveled in your holidays at University and took a pre-university gap year, what advice would you tell others who are thinking of doing the same?<\/h3>\n

I took several gap years and can\u2019t wait to take another. To anyone considering whether they should go straight to uni or take the year out \u2013 save up and go travelling!<\/p>\n

You have the rest of your life to study and work but only a short blip to take a whole 365 days out of your career and enjoy yourself! Not only do you create some amazing experiences in the world but a gap year gives you a chance to get to know yourself, what you\u2019re passionate about and what excites you.<\/p>\n

4) What has been your favorite place to visit so far and why?<\/h3>\n

My first safari was out of this world! We went to Kruger National Park<\/a> in South Africa and spent the mornings hiking barefoot through rivers with crocodiles and afternoons tracking hyena packs. The scenery was stunning and the sense of the wild was unbeatable. The trip was all arranged spontaneously the day before we flew which made it all the more special!<\/p>\n

5) We know from your blog and published articles on We Are Travel Girls that you enjoy hiking, tell our readers about your favorite hiking destination?<\/h3>\n

I was never that into hiking until I spent 7 months in New Zealand \u2013 so I tend to refer to NZ as the motherland where it all began! So New Zealand is my favourite so far. It\u2019s all so accessible there and travelling between mountains and trekking routes takes hardly anytime. However, I\u2019m sure Nepal will soon rival New Zealand!<\/p>\n

6) What advice would you give our readers who are thinking about going on a multi-day hike or embarking on an outdoor adventure trip?<\/h3>\n

Plan ahead \u2013 I know I totally sound like my Mum but when doing anything adventurous you need to have it thought through. Multi-day hikes are the best but always check the weather, make sure you\u2019ve got the kit (shoes, tent, etc) and research your route. We all know how the film 127 hours finishes and my best friend was once airlifted off Mount Snowdon<\/a> which has swayed my attitude to planning!<\/p>\n

7) What web resources do you use when looking for hiking or outdoor adventure destinations?<\/h3>\n

Can I be old-school and say I still use guidebooks?! I, of course, use Google Maps to scout my destination, and if I\u2019m planning a hike will look on Google Earth at the terrain. But mainly I go by recommendations from friends, Instagram and Blogs. I love the Save tool on Instagram, and tend to binge search hikes in the destination I\u2019m going and then look up the viewpoints I\u2019ve saved.<\/p>\n

8) What destinations are on your hiking bucket list?<\/h3>\n

Nepal is a must! Patagonia in Chile, Papua New Guinea, Afghanistan and The Democratic Republic of the Congo are pretty high up the list too. I will be ticking trekking in Borneo off my list later this year!<\/p>\n

9) You have recently become a We Are Travel Girls Senior Contributor, why did you want to become part of our community?<\/h3>\n

I was going through a low period in my life and took some time out. I went from working a million hours a week to having nothing. We Are Travel Girls gave me a sense of purpose in my life just when I needed it. The travel girls I\u2019ve met through the community helped me get back on my feet and kept me climbing mountains today!<\/p>\n

10) Now for a fun question, what is your favorite quote?<\/h3>\n
